iStat pro's Review
This site distributes software free of charge via WeDownload Manager which is compatible with PCs running Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 and Mac OS X. Besides managing the download of your selected software, the download manager will make recommendations for commercial offers that you might be interested in. The additional software may include toolbars, browser add-ons and other types of software applications. You are not required to install any additional software to receive the software you are trying to download. iStat pro basically does the same thing as iStat nano: monitoring your Mac's parameters right from the dashboard. The main difference between these widgets is the fact that iStat pro reunites the whole parameters into a single long window that can be placed horizontally or vertically.
In order to detect right the working parameters the widget might ask you to install some drivers. The installer can automatically download and install them.
The parameters iStat pro shows can be customized. If you would like fewer, then it is possible to turn off some of them. Or, if you would like greater functionality, you can turn on some parameters that are off by default.
The widget also supports some skins that can change the way how it looks. It has fewer skins than the nano version, but you can make it look decent.
Pluses: it can monitor various working parameters of your Mac.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: iStat pro offers the same functionality as the nano version. The interface modifications makes it appropriate for multiple parameters monitoring, unlike the nano version where you have to switch to monitoring categories in order to see the working parameters.
